Unlock Project Information with a Scan: MahaRERA Introduces QR Codes for Easy Access

Starting from August 1, 2023, homebuyers in Maharashtra will have easier access to project information, thanks to a new requirement by the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). In a recent circular, MahaRERA announced that developers will be mandated to provide a QR code for their projects in all promotions and advertisements.

The QR code implementation aims to enhance transparency and provide convenient access to crucial project-related details for prospective buyers and allottees. According to the order, the QR code must be prominently displayed alongside the MahaRERA Registration Number and the Website Address in all project promotions and advertisements published after August 1, 2023.

This requirement applies to various mediums, including newspapers, magazines, flyers, brochures, websites, social media, and more. The QR code should be easily legible, readable, and detectable using software applications, ensuring a seamless experience for homebuyers seeking information about registered projects.

The move comes as part of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, which aims to bring greater transparency to the real estate sector. MahaRERA has consistently worked towards providing maximum necessary information to the public, empowering homebuyers and allottees to make well-informed decisions in the dynamic real estate market.
